Holi Festival

A complete and in-depth travel itinerary in Rajasthan in the footsteps of the ancient kings of India to meet its history as well as its deep spirituality; you will be fascinated by the colors of the saris and the scents of spices in suggestive scenarios that seem to come from an ancient world. During the trip we will witness the "Holi" festival of colors which is the funniest festival in India.

26 march 2021: Arrive in Delhi

Upon arrival at the airport in Delhi, meeting with our staff. Transfer to the hotel.

Breakfast and visit of the Qutub Minar complex, a 73 meter high tower, engraved with verses from the Koran, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. Continue to New Delhi to the government district. Stop at India Gate, built in memory of Indian soldiers killed fighting for the British army during the First World War. Overnight at Hotel.

 

27 March 2021: Delhi / Agra (Km.210 - approx 4 hrs)

Breakfast and visit of old Delhi. External visit of the Red Fort, built in 1639 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and a UNESCO heritage site. Visit of the Jama Masjid, also commissioned by Shah Jahan and completed in 1656. Visit of the Raj Ghat, where Gandhi was cremated in 1948. Departure for Agra. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

28 March 2021: Agra / Fathepur Sikri / Jaipur (km. 245 - approx 05 hrs)

Breakfast and visit to the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), the mausoleum, UNESCO heritage, of Muslim art that the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had built for his second wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1631 and whose construction ended in 1653. visit of the Fortress of Agra, in red sandstone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose construction was begun by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Inside, palaces and mosques of white marble inlaid with precious stones. Departure for Jaipur with a stop in Fatehpur Sikri. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

29 March 2021: Jaipur

Free morning to celebrate the festival of colors. In the afternoon visit of the City Palace, of the eighteenth century, in the past the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur and still today the residence of the royals. Visit of the Jantar Mantar, the Astronomical Observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, architectural forms used as astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai ​​Singh II between 1727 and 1734.

30 March 2021: Jaipur / Pushkar (km. 150 - approx 03 hrs)

Breakfast and visit to the Amber fortress, built in the 16th century by the hand of Raja Man Singh I and which was the ancient capital of the state and the seat of all the Rajput dynasties until the foundation of Jaipur. Internally, refined decorations with sculptures, mirrors, precious stones. Departure for Pushkar. Upon arrival, accommodation in the hotel.

31 March 2021: Pushkar / Jodhpur (km. 285 - approx 05 hrs)

Breakfast and visit to Pushkar Brahma Temple and Pushkar Sacred Lake. Departure for Jodhpur, in the Thar desert, the “blue city”, with its 15th century indigo houses. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

01 April 2021: Jodhpur / Bikaner (Km.250 - approx 5 hrs)

Breakfast and visit of the imposing Mehrangarh Fort, whose construction began in 1458 thanks to Rao Jodh and where the rulers have always lived. Inside, crowbars, elephant sedans, musical instruments, costumes, furnishings, weapons and sepulchral monuments. Visit of Jaswant Thanda, a white marble mausoleum built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in 1899 where the royals of Jodhpur are cremated. Departure for Bikaner. Upon arrival, accommodation in the hotel.

 

02 April 2021: Bikaner / Mandawa (Km.200 - approx 4 hrs)

After breakfast, visit the Junagarh fort of Bikaner built by Raja Raj Singh, sixth ruler of Bikaner, who reigned from 1571 to 1611; it has seven gates and numerous palaces, pavilions and many Hindu and Jianist temples. Departure for Mandawa. Upon arrival, accommodation in the hotel.

03 April 2021: Mandawa / Delhi (Km.260 - approx 6 hrs)

After breakfast, visit Mandawa, on the ancient caravan routes from China and the Middle East, the "open art gallery" of Rajasthan, which houses richly decorated ancient palaces, the "havelis". Departure for Delhi. Upon arrival, accommodation in the hotel.

04 April 2021: Depart from Delhi
