Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Upon arrival at the airport in Delhi meeting with the staff of our staff for meetings. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02: Delhi
Breakfast and then, tour in the Old and New Delhi. External visit of the Red Fort, a UNESCO heritage site since 2007, built in 1639 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (the creator of the Taj Mahal). Visit the imposing Jama Masjid mosque, also commissioned by Shah Jahan and completed in 1656. We cross the characteristic Chandni Chowk market of the 17th century, commissioned by the emperor himself. Visit of the Raj Ghat, the site of Gandhi's cremation in 1948. Continuation to New Delhi to the district of the government buildings and Connaught Place. Stop at India Gate, an arch in memory of the Indian soldiers who perished fighting for the English in the First World War. Visit to the Qutub Minar complex, a 73-meter high tower, engraved with verses from the Koran, installed in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi / Agra (Km. 210 - about 4-5 hours)
Breakfast and departure for Agra. In the afternoon visit of the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), UNESCO heritage, magnificent monument wanted by Shah Jahan for the love of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died in childbirth; the long construction ended in 1653. Visit of the Red Fort, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Visit the royal palaces of the Halls of Audience. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Agra / Fatehpur Sikri / Jaipur (Km. 240 - about 5 hours)
Breakfast and departure for Jaipur with a stop in Fatehpur Sikri, with perfectly preserved red sandstone buildings and pavilions, built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned 15 years later due to water shortages. Continue to Jaipur the "pink city" from the pink sandstone buildings that characterize the beautiful old city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Jaipur Breakfast and full day dedicated to the visit of the city of Jaipur founded on November 18, 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, from which it takes its name. Visit to the Amber fortress, in red earth and white marble, whose construction began in 1592 at the hands of Raja Man Singh I, and which was the ancient capital of the state as well as the seat of all Rajput dynasties until the founding of Jaipur. The interiors are finely decorated with sculptures, mirrors and precious stones. Access to the fort entrance by elephant or by jeep (depending on availability). Later, in Jaipur, visit from the outside of the splendid Palace of the Winds or Hawa Mahal, built in 1799. In the afternoon, ride in Jaipur with the typical Indian vehicle, the Tuc Tuc. Visit of the City Palace, the historic seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, whose construction began between 1729 and 1732 by Sawai Jai Singh II and which is the current residence of the royals. Visit to the Jantar Mantar, the Astronomical Observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a collection of architectural forms used as astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 06: Jaipur / Jodhpur (Km. 335 - about 6 hours)
Departure for Jodhur, called the "Blue City" for its painted houses, dating back to the 15th century. In the afternoon visit the Mehrangarh Fort on a hill that offers a breathtaking view. Its construction began in 1458 at the hands of Rao Jodh and sovereigns have always lived there. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Jodhpur / Ranakpur / Udaipur (270 Kms and about 6 hours)
Breakfast and departure for Udaipur, the "white city". Stop at Ranakpur to see a beautiful complex of Jain temples dating back to the 15th century. Udaipur, founded in the 16th century by Maharana Udai Singh, is known for its handicrafts, marble items, paintings, silverware and terracotta. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Udaipur
Breakfast and visit of the City Palace, the largest Royal Palace in the state of Rajasthan, consisting of 5 buildings that form a citadel where the city Maharaja currently lives. A part of the City Palace is dedicated to a museum and a part is a luxury hotel. Visit of the Royal gardens of Saheliyo ki bari. Late afternoon, boat trip on the lake to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day
09: Udaipur / Mumbai (with flight approximately 1.30 pm) Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and boarding the flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival at the airport, meet with our staff. Arrival in Mumbai, India's economic power that once, before the arrival of the Europeans, consisted of seven fishing villages, each on a separate island. Visit to the Bollywood movie studios. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Mumbai
Breakfast and, weather conditions permitting, visit the Elephanta caves (closed on Mondays), an hour by ferry from the Gate of India, to visit the temples carved into the rock between the 5th and the 6th century AD dedicated to Shiva and UNESCO Heritage. In the afternoon, visit the Prince of Wales Museum (closed on Mondays), built in 1914 and a major attraction in Mumbai with its art collections, sculptures, coins, historical weapons and miniature paintings. Visit the Gateway of India, the Marine Drive, the Dhobi ghats (open-air laundries), the Victoria Terminus, the Gothic-style station, the Crawford Market, the Mani Bhavan (memorial to Gandhi). Dinner and transfer to the airport.
Day 11: Departure from Mumbai
Embarkation on the flight home.
