A journey that starts from Bangalore, a lively city at the forefront of computer science, to develop within the great Indian National Parks where you can enjoy a magnificent habitat, a kingdom of protected wild animals in danger of extinction including the tiger. Through a lush nature you reach the backwaters of Kerala, an ideal stop to relax in the canals and lagoons aboard typical floating boats. Reserved for fans of the belvedere, beauty and well-being.

Day 01: Bangalore

Upon arrival, meeting with our staff and transfer to the hotel. Tour of Bangalore, with a visit to Tipu Palace from 1791, the Bull Temple, from the 16th century, with the massive monolithic black granite bull, and the Vidhana Sabha, the largest administrative building in the country. Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is the nation's leading exporter of Information Technology. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 02: Bangalore / Mysore and Park of Ranganthittu (Km. 150 - approx 3 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Mysore. Visit the Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary which is home to a large variety of migratory birds such as herons, storks, ibises, cormorants, ducks, peacocks etc. and numerous small mammals, including macaques, foxes, otters, bats. Ranganathittu has the largest freshwater crocodile population in Karnataka. Guided tour with boat excursion to admire the animals. Continue to Mysore, the capital of the Wodeyar dynasty. Afternoon, visit of Mysore, in particular the Mysore Palace, one of the most beautiful royal palaces in India and evocatively illuminated on Sundays. The exterior, in Islamic style, preserves large halls, the Mantaps, paintings and beautiful Indo-Saracen architecture. Visit on a hill to the temple dedicated to Sri Chamundeshwari, tutelary deity of the royal family of Mysore, with the huge Nandi, the bull of Shiva, built in 1659 by the ruler Dodda Devaraja. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Mysore / National Park of Nagarhole (Km. 90 – approx 2 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Nagarhole Park, perfect for bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts; rich in woods, small streams, undulating valleys and waterfalls; a refuge for many wildlife including horned antelopes, panthers, blackcaps, hornbills, deer, pangolins, gaur, squirrels and Asian elephants. The Brahmagiri Misty Mountains form a perfect backdrop for the natural sounds of the jungle, the gurgling of streams and rivers. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: National Park of Nagarhole

In the morning safari in the jungle, followed by an excursion on the Kabini river with a particular boat, ideal for viewing this park. In the afternoon, cruise on the Kabini River by motor boat to admire the sleeping crocodiles and chirping birds. A variety of wildlife, particularly elephants, can be seen as they come to the river to bathe or drink. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: National Park of Nagarhole / National Park of Bandipur (Km. 123 – approx 3 hrs)

Morning jungle safari in Nagarhole and departure for Bandipur National Park which is teeming with wildlife and is a refuge for a wide variety of animals including antelope, gaur, Asian elephant, leopard, bear, hare and a host of bird species , including peacocks. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: National Park of Bandipur 

Day dedicated to jeep safari in the park. Possibility to rent a bicycle and go bird watching. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Bandipur / Ooty (Km. 50 – approx 2 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Ooty, a renowned hill station. Accommodation at the hotel. Free afternoon for individual initiatives. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Ooty - National Park of Eravikulam (Km. 235 – approx 6 hrs)

Breakfast and continue to Eravikulam National Park, with a short stop in Munnar in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: National Park of Eravikulam – Periyar National Park (Km. 100 – approx 3 hrs)

In the morning, visit the Park to do bird watching and admire the animals in their natural habitat. Later, departure for the Periyar National Park. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Periyar National Park

On the hills of the Western Ghats, Periyar National Park is rich habitat for large mammals, thanks to the abundance of succulent grasses. It is possible to see large herds of Indian elephants and Nilgiri langur monkeys. There are more than 30 mammal species, including the tiger, the gaur (Indian bison) and the bear. The bird life is lively and includes numerous water birds and the great Indian hornbill. Relaxing boat trip. The region surrounding the Park is famous for the cultivation of spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee and tea. In the afternoon, visit a plantation.

Day 11: Periyar National Park

Colazione ed intera giornata per godere ancora delle bellezze del Parco. Possibilità di fare rafting con zattere di bamboo e trekking attraverso le ricche foreste di Periyar, accompagnati da una guida esperta. Si godrà quindi di bellissime viste panoramiche con possibilità di incontrare animali come elefanti,  gaur e sambar. Cena e pernottamento in Hotel.

Day 12: Periyar / Kottayam (Houseboat) (Km. 97 – approx 3 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Kottayam. Accommodation in the traditional wooden boat, the kettu wallam, a real floating home. Excursion to the backwaters characterizing the Kerala coast, a vast network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals that represent a unique geographical formation and are the basis of a particular lifestyle of the villages in the area. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 13: Kumarakom

Breakfast on board as you cruise through lush green spice plantations and local villages before disembarking mid-morning in Kumarkom, located on the shores of Lake Vembanad, one of the most enchanting villages in Kerala, surrounded by relaxing lagoons, dense mangrove forests, greenery rice fields and lush coconut palms. You reach the famous Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary by boat, home to cormorants, egrets, herons, teals and migratory birds such as Siberian storks. Free afternoon to explore the beautiful Lake Wemnad with a sunset cruise or in total relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Kumarakom / Cochin (Km. 53 - approx 1 hrs)

Breakfast and departure for Cochin, a lively city of Kerala, known as 'the country of God'. The nickname "Queen of the Arabian Sea" testifies to its strategic importance over the centuries. In the afternoon visit of the city in particular the Bolghatty Palace, the Church of S. Francesco and the Jewish Synagogue. In the evening Kathkali dance show, very colorful and expressive typical of Kerala.

Day 15: Depart from Cochin
