Tours in Tibet

In a magnificent natural setting, Tibet is not by chance called "the roof of the world", thanks to the average of its altitudes equal to 3650 meters above sea level. and at the height of its peaks that exceed 8,000 meters. (Everest is 8848 meters high and is the tallest mountain on Earth). It is the highest and largest plateau in the world, surrounded to the south by the Himalayas and to the north by the mountains of Altyn Tagh and Gangkar Chogley Namgyal. In the west it merges with the peaks of the Karakorum while in the east it gradually descends towards the peaks of Minyak Gangkar and Khawakarpo. It remains one of the few uncontaminated lands and a tourist destination for its peculiar geological characteristics. Its geographical and political isolation meant that for a long time only very few foreigners managed to cross its borders. Even after the Chinese invasion of 1950, Tibet remained completely closed. It was only opened to everyone in the mid-1980s, although special permits are still required today. You will be fascinated by the extraordinary nature but also by the splendid ethnic culture and its characteristic local uses and customs.
